Business as unusual

A collection of original business cards. It’s part two of a series, check part one here. Cool stuff, eventhough they didn’t include mine! This is reminiscent of a great scene from the American Psycho movie.

Logo Humor

At first sight just another corporate logo, this time from U.K.’s Office of Government Commerce. But wait, what happens when you tilt your head 90 degrees to the left.

FreshFonts

So the other night I was attending at PechaKucha what was kind of fun. Utrecht based design agency Autobahn was there as well and told about their FreshFonts project. They took Helvetica and tried to redraw it with glue, tomato juice and toothpaste which ended up with free downloads of Gelvetica, Tomatica and Heldentica.

He’s a Spannish designer. His site’s title is ‘Creativity, Type & Illustration’, wich basicly says it all. Lovely work and I like the way the site scrolls.

It uses 80 typefaces from Veer’s umbrella collection. Other people will call it a Parra ripoff. I just call for some rain to come.

Calligraffiti

Oh yes. On September 14th, 15th and 16th legendary graffiti writer, graphic designer and calligraher Shoe and his Brooklyn buddy Eric Haze have an exposition at the Post CS, Amsterdam. It’s called Calligraffiti and shows a new art form combining graffiti, calligraphy, typography and graphic design. The style is a mix between ancient Japanese, Arabic and midieval craftsmanship with graffiti. No website, but check this related article.
