INCREDIBLE INDIA PT. 2

Two years ago we could already enjoy the incredible effects made in Bollywood, but fortunately they developed their skills even more, as we can see in this hilarious compilation of Robot. Over the top is an understatement.

Into Eternity

Today at the IDFA I saw the intriguing documentary ‘Into Eternity‘ about the world’s first permanent repository for nuclear waste – underground in Finland – that must last 100,000 years. The implications and the dilemmas involved are fascinating. Shame there’s no HD trailer up because the cinematography by Heikki Färm is stunning.

Runaway

The musical film ‘Runaway’ by Kanye debuted Saturday. Critics have described it as a “whole lotta nothin”, but if you look deeper you might be taken aback. The film tells the story of a phoenix (the beautiful Selita Ebanks) who falls to earth and lands at the front of a car. West then tries to introduce the phoenix to earth.

The alternative

Check out these very cool alternative poster designs for some classic movies. They’re made by Ibraheem Youssef a graphic designer from Toronto. I love the little story line hints in the designs and wonder why the big studio’s always go for the same layout.

THE SMURFS

Who didn’t grow up with them, and now they get there own movie by Sony Animation’s. In the 3-D live-action/animation hybrid feature, the Smurfs are kicked out of their world by Gargamel and end up in New York City. I am curious how this is going to look and if I like, love or hate it.

Wristband

For weeks now, I feel a lot of power. It must be this wrist-band I started to wear: it’s the same one as football hero Johan Neeskens used to have in the 70′s. And the same one Johan Primero is wearing (he’s constantly tweeting about it!) . It would be selfish to keep this power just for me. So if you want one, let me know and I sent you one (it’s designed by Penny Lee!).

Curiousity.

You can’t really argue with Ridley Scott. It’s not only the fact he’s ballin’, a ‘Sir’ and I’m neither. He just made some movies that make you shut up. Gladiator is high on my fav’s list. While reminding me of another fav, the trailer of his Robin Hood re-do tickles my curiousity. Just like in Cannes. In the same time the trailer raises a lot of questions, such as: “Why?”

If you haven’t seen their new video yet, you probably were on a 3 month sabbatical in Bhutan, but maybe haven’t read the story behind the making of this new video of OK Go. Six months working with rocket scientists, having lots of patience, paint and I guess….lots of passion.
