
Amsterdam 2.0 is an art initiative that explores the vivid art scene in one of the cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam. Combining a party and young artists their next event will take place at De Brakke Grond this friday. A great place to spot new talent (and get drunk).

After shows with artists like Quick, Paul Du Bois-Reymond and Petro, Amsterdam’s Unruly Gallery is showing the work of Arno Coenen next week. For his new artworks Arno engraved the cut-off tops of wooden barrels with pyrography techniques, burning images onto the circular surfaces with a heated pen. Come see!

A simple idea that turned out to draw quiet an audience. Wednesday May 9th we show online catvideo’s on the big screen. All proceedings go directly to Amsterdam’s flaoting cat shelter De Poezenboot. Reserve tickets via Tumblr. Shout out to Wilfredtimo for this crazy…

Last Saturday gallery 941 Geary in San Francisco, a giant 3,000 square foot converted warehouse, openend a solo exhibition with new paintings by Niels Shoe Meulman. The show will run until April 21 – check the ‘Justified Scriptures’ video and opening pictures here.

The Chip Shop Awards are an international creative awards scheme with no limits or rules – it’s all about ideas. The work need not have run and the creator need not work for the client. You can send in your unapproved or free work untill March 16th.

HGCTT stands for (Dutch) Het Grote Collectieven Trefbal Toernooi. HGCTT is a dodgeball tournament for 8 creative Dutch collectives. The tournament will take place on the 22nd of January in Undercurrent, Amsterdam and is hosted by Yo Momma. Today started an online version of the tournament where the collectives need to score likes. All design & coding is done by Alexander Griffioen.

Recently the Dutch Adobe User Group, community for creative professionals, reached 5000+ members. The champions league of film: From 1-6 november winners from film festivals and awards worldwide will be shown at Amsterdam Film Week to decide the winner of them all. Also check out the design contest at Kuvva and the trailer by me and Undog (who did the campaign).

The Dutch visual effects event VFX is aimed at animators, compositors ans colorists. And this year, 1st of November, a bunch of big names will be on stage in Amsterdam: Pixar Studio’s, Dreamworks, Digital Domain, Post Office and Guerilla Games. Pro’s will show.

We’re all so proud of Nasrdin Dchar. Last Friday at the Dutch Film Festival he won a Golden Calf for his role in our feature film Rabat. The Golden Calfs are Hollands’ most prestigious film awards. Please watch and share his inspiring acceptance speech.

Agency Achtung! pulled of a stunt for Vodafone, as Jort mentioned earlier, by organising a race in the small village of Roggel. Between the inhabitants and famous Formula One driver Jenson Button – to communicate the speed of fast fibre internet. And now there is the documentary (director: Andreas Pasvantis) too..



This festival of motion design & animation is spreading its wings. Together with Submarine Channel, Playgrounds will be organizing a warm up-edition on October 5 at De Zwijger. The next 2 days the festival continues in Tilburg.

Capital A is a new initiative that aims to open up the city’s contemporary art scene to an (inter)national audience. There isn’t a complete program yet - Non-fiction is working hard to launch this in September – but its never too early to start raising awareness. Vandejong will develop the campaign.

Demakersvan are in London showcasing the streamline curves and flowing contours of their latest creation, the Lectori Salutem desk. Their show is at the Blain Southern gallery 12 May – 16 July. This design team comprised of Jeroen and Joep Verhoeven plus Judith de Graauw, is known for creations like the beautiful Cinderella Table.

An inspiring weekend with leading Dutch creative entrepreneurs operating outside the Netherlands. Think KesselsKramer, SpilGames and MassiveMusic. Part of the event is an Open Studio Night, with creative agencies and studio’s opening up to have your portfolio evaluated.

Designer Janne Kyttanen is a true 3D printing expert: he won several awards and together with Amsterdam Worldwide he did the ‘Made in Japan‘ Onitsuka Tiger campaign.
