Fix the USA

To promote their animated ecards service the people of JibJab created a great animation about the one and only mr. Obama. It’s very well crafted and at the end they put a promo for the website which is not a dumb move. You can see concept sketches and behind-the-scenes footage at their blog.

colourmovie

Colourmovie is a design-driven creative studio specializing in motion design, animation, brand identity, and live-action production.’ This LA based company released their showreel for 2009 and it’s pretty damn impressive, if you’re into spiffy big brand/hollywood/television type motion graphics.

Contrast

I’ll be off to Dublin for the weekend and bumped into this small agency while I was exploring the creative scene in the Irish capital. They make web apps, love their one-page website.

Addikt update

Dutch motion graphics studio Addikt updates its website. Check out the portfolio for their on air, online, on paper and on stage projects, and off course their showreel. What I like about Addikt is that in the midst of 3d animators, they stand out because of their diversity and taste.

big spaceship

Big Spaceship, you probably know them from their high end Flash work. If you don’t, check out their website. If you do, check out their website too. They have updated it today. Don’t get your hopes up for something flashy, it’s very basic, it’s about the work and the thoughts on it.

The Fantasy Factory

If you like the MTV real live soap Rob and Big you’ll love Rob Dyrdek’s new show. It’s called the Fantasy Factory and it’s about Rob running an amazing house / factory / company while doing loads of stupid and funny stuff.

RESN

I have no idea how new this is, but check out the weird shit going on at this website. It’s the home of New Zealand interactive agency Resn, creators of the digital disco breakdown. There’s some nice work in their portfolio and i love the roll overs, check the swans and try rolling over the logo multiple times.

2009

New year, fresh start, credit crunch, black president, your mother browsing the web on her mobile.. what will the future hold for us in 2009? Six design companies from The Netherlands were asked by the inspiring website Fontanel to compose a short vision on 2009. We were glad to be given the chance to add our bit.

We at 7U

love movies. So we combined our strengts and cutted al our favorite, funiest, lamest and most beautiful movie scenes and let our random movie selector do its job. No need anymore to flip trough all the TV channels and watch the same boring stuff as last year. Go to the 7U site and enjoy being as lazy as we are!

You choose, we fire

A Belgian creative agency needs to fire one of their people due to the crisis. But because they cannot pick, they leave the choice up to you. Take a look at the people who work at So Nice and fire one of them.

Misleeding?

I am not Gareth Leeding. This is not a shameless promotion of our (I mean their) new site. This is, however, an all singing, all dancing, pretty little Flash, video and animation-based portfolio for Clinic London.

He has chosen 100 brands of logo designers, brand identity consultants and graphic studios from around the world. We‘re proud to be among them.

hello

Visit the creative agencies of Rotterdam, at least a bunch of them with Hello, my name is…. Like the idea, but don’t like the fact that only students are able to sign up. Plus the website is a bit lame. Agencies like Ranj, DC, Supersteil, and Zicht are down with it.

Behance

What a good addition to the network sites Behance is.
A real pleasure to use, good GUI, invite only and a good
place to show your work to fellow creatives. For us a
chance to show projects like Storycatcher or KLu far
more in depth, as well as a chance to show a selection
of logos or never before published visualisations.

Seeegaaa

When Sega decided to enter the casual games market the possibilities seemed endless. Their software back catalogue is filled with classics that are mostly easy to grasp yet difficult to master. Perfect for that ‘one more go’ feeling that casual games need to have. Imagine the horror when I clicked PlaySega. Where are the web versions of Space Harrier? Golden Axe? Daytona?
