Cassette love
While vinyl gets all the credit, cassettes deserve essays of their own. Rob Walker blesses us with some fine examples of how this medium still manages to survive.

It’s analog music carrier tuesday at New Work!
It’s great! We should keep the tape alive!!!!, it’s my only music option in my car, and unfortunately I only have tapes of Julio Iglesias and The BeeGees, this creates an agressive driving style.

Thanks Weimar for the Facebook-tip!
Tapes had a mystique and they sure smelled great.. and these tapes were made of the most exotic materials! (at least that’s what the cases said.. METAL, TITANIUM, UNOBTAINIUM, FRICKIN’AWESOMIUM!!!11!).. and sometimes I bought these tapes with cases made from ceramic materials so they felt cold to the touch but weighed heavy in the hand.
No I never was a CD fan.. I had some CD’s until the CD player scratched all of them beyond recovery.. so.. *shrugs* I went from tape to MP3… Good times.. :)
