Also, I really get seconds thoughts when looking at the video. I’m afraid it’s too big, too complex, too many options, trying to be all sites at once and not a search engine… (thats my little ‘linux and free-software’ voice talking, where every software does somethig very small, but very good)

And to continue this little rant… ‘Bing’ shows a strategy where Microsoft apparently knows exactly how we use search engines… It’s a very ‘top-down decided’ approach… This in contrast to Google, Facebook, Flickr etc.. that started as simple tools, and then developed according to the needs of the users…

i remember hating the google logo too. Didnt seem to matter as far as succes goes. But what was great about google is that it was so fast. The simple page (white, txt and logo) helped doing that. I dont know if these big photos are a good idea for a search page.
