Photographer Martha Cooper is known for documenting New York hip hop culture in the late 70s and early 80s. She’s put out some great books on the subject, with Subway Art (with Henry Chalfant) being the most famous. Current Art did this video portrait on her. It’s an interesting introduction to her work, not for ‘insiders only’.
